With the fall semester deadline coming up Monday, March 16, take a look at the Education Abroad website and all of the options. When studying abroad, you gain both academic and personal benefits. You gain credits that will transfer back, knowledge, and academic strength. Along with this, you build connections and make memories. Students who study abroad learn to adapt through challenges and gain confidence.
I just got back from studying abroad for a semester in London. It changed my life in so many ways. It’s something I’ll never forget and will continue to talk about forever. I am definitely going to do it again before I graduate. From meeting life-long friends to exploring the country, I got the privilege to meet so many individuals from all over, including Greece, Norway, New Zealand, Australia, China, and so many more. Now I have best friends scattered around the world and a reason to visit those cities. I also loved the change of culture and seeing something new every single day. The accessible travel also added to my experience greatly. With round-trip flights for 20 pounds (about $27 U.S.), I got the chance to visit seven different countries while abroad. My experiences in Europe challenged me and helped me grow as a person.
I will always advise people to participate in a study abroad. Whether it’s for a few weeks, a semester, or a full academic year, it will be the best decision of your life. Additionally, your scholarships will cover your tuition just like it does here at NMSU.
