LAS CRUCES, N.M. — With the regular season approaching its conclusion, the New Mexico State women’s soccer team will look to build momentum when it hosts Missouri State Sunday, Oct. 18, for its Pink Out game.

The Aggies enter the matchup following a 2-1 road loss to Sam Houston Oct. 11, bringing their overall record to 2-10-2. Which included a 1-0 victory over Florida International on Sept. 27 in its Conference USA opener.
The team has faced a challenging schedule throughout the season, opening with nonconference matchups against Arizona State, Arizona, Long Beach State and University of Southern California. The Aggies also played to 1-1 draws against in-state opponents New Mexico and UTEP, demonstrating their ability to compete in closely contested matches.
CUSA play has presented additional challenges. New Mexico State fell to Kennesaw State, 1-0, Oct. 1 before dropping a 3-0 decision to Liberty on Oct. 4. The loss to Sam Houston marked another setback as the Aggies continue working to find consistency on both sides of the field.
As the season progresses, New Mexico State will look to improve its execution in the attacking third, capitalize on scoring opportunities and maintain defensive discipline. With a limited number of regular-season games remaining, each matchup presents an opportunity for the Aggies to strengthen their performance and finish the season on a positive note.
Sunday’s matchup will also feature a Pink Out theme, bringing attention to breast cancer awareness. The event provides an opportunity for players and fans to show support for those affected by breast cancer while coming together to support Aggie athletics. Additional event details and any fundraising or community partnerships should be confirmed with the athletics department.

Following Sunday’s game, the Aggies will continue their conference schedule on the road against Middle Tennessee Thursday, Oct. 22, before traveling to face Western Kentucky Sunday, Oct. 25. New Mexico State will then return home to close out its regular season against Jacksonville State Saturday, Oct. 31.
The remaining schedule will give the Aggies several opportunities to improve their conference standing and build momentum heading toward the postseason. Consistency, defensive organization and converting scoring chances will be important as the team navigates the final stretch of its campaign.
New Mexico State will host Missouri State at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at the NM State Soccer Athletic Complex in Las Cruces. With the regular season nearing its end, the Aggies will look to make the most of their home-field opportunity while participating in an event dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
