LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State University Director of Athletics Joe Fields announced a $17 million investment of a new press box and executive suite project at Aggie Memorial Stadium today. Capital funding for the plan will cost $1.225 million, making the total facility investment $18.225 million.
NM State Athletics will also receive $9 million from the state legislature to spend on operations for three years. The funding secured from the state is the largest financial procurement in NM State Athletics history.
Fields said this plan will benefit the athletics programs, the school and the city of Las Cruces.
“This project is transformational for our university and our community,” Fields said. “It positions us to recruit and retain student-athletes, generate meaningful revenue to reinvest in our programs and elevate the experience for our fans, partners and supporters.”
The press box and executive suite will be 14,500 square feet. This will help ease premium seating options, media accommodations and space.
Construction will start following the conclusion of the 2026 season, with hopes of being finished by the beginning of the 2027 campaign.
Fields is excited for the chance at long-term success in Aggie athletics.
“The future is bright,” Fields said. “Aggie Nation deserves facilities that reflect its passion, pride and potential. This project is another step toward building a championship-level experience for our student-athletes, our fans and our great state.”
