Jose Lopez is a New Mexico State University graduate, a veteran journalist and photo editor whose career spans more than five decades in visual storytelling. After discovering the Associated Press photo transmitter as a student at NMSU, Lopez pursued a career in photojournalism that led him to work across the country covering sports, news and national events. He later joined The New York Times, where he continues to photo edit the national section of the Monday print edition, helping shape stories through powerful imagery.
