LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The New Mexico State women’s swimming and diving team is ready to dive into a new season, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, with the Crimson and White Meet at home.
The Aggies are coming off a stellar 2024-25 campaign in which they went 8–1 overall, dominated at home with a perfect 5–0 record and finished second at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships with 534 points. Along the way, they set two new school records in the 200 free relay and 200-medley relay.
A big part of this success came from standout junior Kodi Wiman, who won gold in the 200 breaststroke as well as senior Katie Rink and sophomore Emily Dobbins, who are all returning to lead the team this year.
Head coach Rick Pratt, honored as WAC Coach of the Year last season, said his squad is eager for the challenges ahead.
“It’s exciting to head into a new season, and this schedule will give our team many challenging opportunities,” Pratt said.
The Aggies will also look for their diving team to make a bigger splash this season, with a group that has potential to surprise and contend throughout the year.
After the home opener, NMSU will host Utah Tech University in a two-day meet Friday, Oct. 10, to Saturday, Oct. 11. This is before they head to the MPSF Open Water Championships Saturday, Oct. 18, at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, California. In total, the Aggies will have five home meets, giving them plenty of chances to repeat last year’s undefeated run in Las Cruces.
With momentum from last year and key leaders returning, New Mexico State is aiming to stay at the top of the WAC and continue building on a tradition of excellence.
