Alamogordo man convicted of murdering police officer

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — An Alamogordo man will spend life in prison after killing a police officer.

27-year-old Dominic De La O was convicted by a jury for the killing Alamogordo Police Officer Anthony Ferguson on July 15, 2023. De La O was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and four other charges.

He pleaded not guilty, and was convicted of all charges except aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
