LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State’s defensive end Vic Shaw was arrested in the early hours Sunday, March 8. Shaw was charged with three misdemeanors and has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
Shaw was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on suspicion of three misdemeanors: negligent use of a firearm (intoxication); concealing identity; and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. His next hearing will be May 6, at the Doña Ana County Magistrate Court.
Shaw had recently transferred from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in January. Shaw started in 10 games in 29 appearances for UTSA, registering 45 total tackles and 2.5 sacks. Shaw was with the Roadrunners from 2023-25.
