The New Mexico Robot Club hosts Robot Combat event

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Robots fought it out at Cruces Creatives.

The New Mexico Robot Club hosted Robot Combat on Saturday, Oct. 5.  More than 16 teams from all over the Southwest brought their best bot fighters.

The all-day event was similar to the hit Battlebots series on Max, but these robot builders did not have to break the bank to buy parts—they used 3D-printed parts and cheap circuit boards and stuff.

“If you think of Battlebots as the Major League Baseball team, what you’re looking at here is like your Triple-A team,” event host “The Mighty Pong” said.  “These are your hometown people that work in their garage, build their robots and they bring it out here to compete with their friends.”

The event was held at Cruces Creatives located at 205 E. Lohman Ave., Las Cruces, New Mexico.
