LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The Aggies suffered their first home loss in two years Saturday, Oct. 25, falling in a close 162.5-137.5 battle against the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).
The meet opened with the 200 Medley Relay, where Emily Dobbins, Kodi Wiman, Willow Messner and Dijana Mazumdar placed second. They finishing just one second behind with a time of 1:45.32. NMSU went on to record five runner-up finishes, each decided by narrow margins.
The diving team was a highlight for the Aggies, sweeping both the 1 and 3-meter events. Mira Tinani claimed first place in both, while Addison Pastiak earned second in the 3-meter.
Naomi Slee delivered standout performances as well, winning the 200 Free and 400 IM. Mazumdar also brought home a first-place finish in the 50 Free, clocking in at 23.90.
In the final event, the 200 Free Relay, Dobbins, Mazumdar, Kira Brownell and Katie Rink closed strong by edging out UNC by a second with an impressive 1:34.98 finish.
The Aggies will look to bounce back Friday, Nov. 7, when they travel to Flagstaff, Arizona, to take on Northern Arizona University.
