CrimsonWire Positions

CrimsonWire is a student-run digital media platform of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at NMSU. Student staff members are qualified volunteers who agree to meet the responsibilities of their position and serve as team members alongside other staff. Staff members are selected by department faculty after completing an application process.

Appointments to staff positions are for one academic year (unless otherwise agreed upon with the faculty advisor) beginning in the fall semester and ending at the end of the Spring semester. Students are eligible to re-apply for selection for another year.

Failure to maintain any of the required responsibilities may result in termination of the appointment at the discretion of the faculty advisors or Journalism and Media Studies Department Head. In some instances, staff members may be eligible to receive class credit for their work during one or both semesters, in which case the class syllabus overrides any listed responsibilities. Staff appointments are not employment and are not entitled to compensation.
