Each year, New Mexico State University celebrates Black History Month by creating spaces that honor culture, history, and community. Through campus-wide events, the university highlights the achievements and contributions of Black leaders while also giving students opportunities to learn, and engage in meaningful conversations. From educational panels and guest speakers to cultural showcases filled with music, dance, and art, NMSU ensures that Black History Month is both informative and celebratory.
By hosting events such as African American dance and drum workshops, student-led discussions, and community gatherings, NMSU brings together students, faculty, and local residents in a shared experience. These events not only recognize the impact of Black history but also strengthen connections across campus. By encouraging participation and dialogue, the university fosters unity, cultural appreciation, and a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives — reinforcing its commitment to inclusion and community engagement.
