LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State University hosts the annual American Indian Week on campus to celebrate native communities, traditions and voices. This year saw a total of eight events spanning from March 23 to March 28.
The early week contained events like a lunch and learn, a game night, an Indian taco luncheon, and an event confronting violence against Native communities. The week closed off with an arts and craft market on Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th, along with the Miss Native American NMSU Pageant on Friday, March 27th, and dance performances by the Zuni Olla Maidens on Saturday. The following pictures depict the vibrant final two days of the celebration, including Kimora Pettigrew’s performance in the pageant.
